What is Foundation Effectiveness?

Foundation effectiveness requires clear goals, coherent strategies, disciplined implementation, and relevant performance indicators. “They may seem obvious but they are actually really hard to do,” CEP President Phil Buchanan told Minnesota Council on Foundations President Trista Harris on a recent trip to Minneapolis. Buchanan discusses why it’s so hard – and talks about getting feedback at the level of a foundation as well as at the level of individual program officers – in this short clip.
